You may not know the name Kao, but you definitely know their brands—John Frieda, Jergens, and Bioré just to name a few. Kao came to SMAKK looking to build an ecommerce experience that would not only house all of their brands under one roof, but launch them DTC for the first time.
With an impressive slate of brands in the beauty and personal care space, Kao wanted to create a seamless shopping experience for customers within the Kao Mall with unique opportunities for cross-selling, loyalty, and promotion across their brands. They also wanted to use the Kao Mall as a way to test and learn in order to gain insight into their consumers to positively impact other parts of their businesses.
SMAKK did extensive research and strategy in order to create a best-in-class digital experience that allowed for shared functionality across the Kao Mall while allowing a unique brand experience for each of their brands. This included design, copy and development as well as on-going implementation and improvements.
