Wild Flower

Building a modern sexual revolution.

We developed a new brand identity, website, and packaging for sexual wellness innovator Wild Flower.

Introduction

Introduction

Since launching in 2017, boutique e-tailer Wild Flower has remained committed to making the sex wellness world a more inclusive place. They do so by creating safe, thoughtfully designed products that allow people of all genders, bodies, experience levels and abilities the freedom to explore their sexuality with wild abandonment and a bottomless curiosity. With a strong sense of vision and values in place, founders Amy and Nick Boyajian came to SMAKK in search of a brand identity and voice that better reflected what made their company unique.

Why we loved this project

Why we loved this project

Not only were we aligned with Wild Flower’s inclusive vision, we were also excited by the opportunity to create a brand unlike anything else in its category. Ever notice that most brands in the sexual wellness world are sleek and minimalist while sex itself is anything but? We set out to create a brand that highlighted the real nature and emotional aspects of sex — like joy, vulnerability, delight, curiosity, and connection.

What we did

What we did

After a deep-dive into our audience personas as well as the competitive and cultural landscape, we developed a manifesto, positioning statement, mission, and vision statement to chart the course forward. Rooted in this foundation, we made sure that every visual choice we made expressed a sense of warmth and fluidity, from the color gradients to the amorphous CGI shapes to the letterforms that purposefully blend sans serif and serif identifiers. In terms of language, we sought to strike a balance between staying fun, curious, and playful while also fostering real, sincere conversations about sex. And once the brand was complete, we applied it to packaging forms as well as a website that doubled as a store and an educational content hub.
