ABOUT THE ROLE
SMAKK Studios is looking for an energetic Junior Designer to join our team. As a designer on our team you merge your technical skills with creative direction to design and produce print and digital design projects for branding, marketing, and web. The right person for this position will love working on all phases of projects, be able to work independently while working within stated prince guidelines and specifications.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
You will be responsible for the design, execution and internal presentation of:
Print and packaging projects
Creation and layout of online designs including, but not limited to, websites, user interface mockups and landing pages with a strong consideration for responsive user experience across devices
Social media content
Design moodboards
Email marketing content
Presentation design
Research and asset collection
Digital and Print Production
Go out of your way to fill in the gaps; proactively ask for project requirements when information is incomplete
Q/A work against project specs proactively searching for errors like spelling mistakes, omitted or incorrect information, sizing errors, technical file issues, etc.
Actively look for opportunities to integrate best practices towards sustainability and inclusivity in all aspects of your work from workflow to creative
WHO YOU ARE:
Minimum of 1-3 working with print & digital design projects for branding, marketing and ecommerce
Able to take design direction and work with input from senior creatives
Understand, technically skilled, and fluent in color theory, typography, composition and photo retouching
Be self-sufficient and able to problem-solve and manage timelines on your own
Able to carry out graphic design tasks from ideation to production with creative direction and feedback from Art Director, Creative Director, and Accounts team
Collaborate with the Digital and Interactive team to bring the designs to life
Experience working with consumer brands and/or DTC brands - bonus if you have a focus within the Skincare, Beauty & Wellness space
Multitasking on a variety of projects simultaneously
Strategic and tactical thinking as it applies to your projects and work
Fluent in Figma, Shopify, Klaviyo, and Adobe Suite - esp. Illustrator
Aptitude to learn more and grow not just yourself but your team
Acute analytical skills and superb attention to detail
Work effectively in a team environment including close interaction with clients
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

*The base salary hiring range for this position is $45,000 - $65,000, but the final compensation offer will ultimately be based on the candidate’s location, skill level and experience.
